     Thank you for visiting the home of Mountain Queen Publishing where love and romance come in a new season of life. Contemporary romance reading for all those who believe in eternal love, the kind that all seek but few find. And for those who wish to laugh along the way. Especially those who wish to laugh...     

     This site features my work. The romantic novels about conquering life, literary essays, photographs, and piano music of new LDS author and composer, L.M. Steen. That's Me. My first novel, Safe in All Things, is the first in a series of uplifting, humorous, romance eBooks about the feisty relationship between Lillian and Russell and whether or not she can overcome her fear of marrying again. The novel is under reconstruction at this moment, but will be available again by the end of June. The eBook will be FREE.

The entire Safe in All Things series, ten books in all, is also available free. I've been advised by two good friends that all of my work will be published postumously if necessary. So, who knows what the books will cost in a couple of years.

For those of you who aren't aware, I am battling my third brain tumor and having daily problems with neuropathy attacks and painful fibromyalgia. Since I also have all of Lillian's (Safe in All Things) diseases, life is tenuous but beautiful. I've been told that I would make a great Oprah candidate: homeless for twenty months after my divorce, impoverished, divorced at an older age, and struggling with painful diseases that are trying to remove me from the earth. However, I'm still laughing. And still writing. And,  perhaps that's the key. I miss my music because that touches the inner spirit as nothing else can, but my writing has opened new doors through which I can see life. Perhaps contribute to someone else's. For that gift, I'm grateful.

Sometimes, we forget to laugh when fear and confusion are clouded by the mists of tears in our eyes. We give up hope when it already stands before us. We stop dancing in the rain. As for me, I don't expect hope to present me with my Russell, but I will be dancing in my stilettos in Coeur d'Alene this July. I will continue to wear them to Church until I die!

Currently available as a series on this site is A Tanda of Tangos. Maddy loves many men, but one man mistakes her love of mankind for love of a different kind. The misunderstanding lands Maddy in jail.
